AstroScope Night Vision for Canon dSLRsGizmag report on a night vision adapter for Nikon and Canon digital SLRs that amplifies light by an incredible 8-10 stops.  They also have a great article on dSLR lenses.

TrustedReviews check out the Canon Ixus 110 IS. It gets thumbs up for it’s image quality, zoom range (nice and wide), noise handling, image stabilisation and build quality. MacWorld also look at the Canon Digital IXUS 980 IS (know as the SD990 in the USA).

The Canon Selphy ES3 has been awarded the editor’s choice award over at cnet.

Digital Cameras

Monster SD cards (SDXC) announced:  Toshiba has announced plans to be the first to ship the new SDXC memory cards starting with capacities of 64gb from Q2 2010.  More info info on CNET.

Digital Photography School have some tips on night photography with a digital SLR.  If you have a spare $22k (USD) you could consider getting one of these.  If you already have a Canon 50d digital SLR Photography Bay have word of a firmware update to correct magenta casts in certain conditions.  The very capable Canon PowerShot SX200 IS has been reviewed by Macworld and it seems they are quite smitten. Oh and there is another review of it here too.

Document Scanners

Life hacker have a quick guide to going paperless. All fairly common sense and orientated towards US readers but still worth a look. Imaging Resource report that the Epson V500 document scanner has been announced.  Maybe just the thing for a very small office or home office.

Printers and Multifunctions

The Epson PX650 has been announced. Lots of coverage  here, here and here.  Trying to call a printer high definition is a bit ridiculous but the promise of better than lab quality prints sounds appealing.  Also there is a video review of the Epson Stylus NX515 on Cnet.

Canon MP560

Canon USA have announced new Pixma ink-jet and Selphy photo printers more info on their website.  Duplex is something that is becoming more common on All-in-One ink-jet printers and the  PIXMA MP560 is no exception with duplex and wireless as standard.

Photography Bay have revisited the rumour of the Canon 3D digital SLR. While on Photography Bay check out their post on how to maximise your digital camera’s battery life.

The Canon Pixma MP980 has been well received by ZDNet Australia, PC Mag and Photography Blog.

If you have a dSLR and don’t have a prime (non zoom) lens in your kit you should get one. If you have a Canon Digital SLR you can pick up the Canon 50mm f1.8 for under $150. This plastic fantastic lens fells like a toy but takes amazing pics.
